Viola M. (PeeWee) Antonelli, 82, of Union Township, passed away the morning of April 7, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born in New Castle on February 3, 1932, Viola was the daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Conti Pagley. Surviving at home is her loving and devoted husband of sixty years, Anthony Antonelli, whom she married on November 21, 1953. Viola was a lifelong devoted member of St. Vitus Church. She was the current president of the Ladies Guild and was very active in participating in many of the churches activities, including the annual church festival and food giveaways. Viola retired from Treasure Island Department Store where she worked as a clerk in the houseware department. Prior to that, she worked for Sears Roebuck Company in the credit office. Viola enjoyed visiting casinos. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was good hearted and was known as her family’s caregiver. Above all, Viola cherished the times she spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all her family, friends and within the church community. In addition to her husband Anthony, Viola is survived by her two children, her son, Charles Antonelli and wife Debbie, her daughter, Mary Jo Antonelli and her companion, Patrick McMahon, both of New Castle; her brother, Anthony (Tony) Pagley and his wife Pearl of New Castle; her twin sister, Victoria (Dolly) DeMatteis of New Castle; two grandchildren, Nicole Toombs, Lisa Colich and husband Josh and three great grandsons, Aidan, Carson and Mason. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Mario DeMatteis. Visitation is Thursday from 5PM to 8PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:30AM for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Rev. Father Frank Almade, pastor of St. Vitus Church will officiate. Entombment will take place at Parkside Cemetery and Mausoleum.
