Laura E. Hill, 86, of 725 Paul Street passed away the afternoon of March 21, 2014 in the Haven Convalescent Home. She was born April 25, 1927 in Willow Grove, PA and was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth G. Fields Moyers. On June 11, 1948 she married her husband, Norman B. Hill who preceded her in death on August 27, 1991. Mrs. Hill was a cook and caregiver for the City Rescue Mission working at the Covenant House and the Sankey Center. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and drawing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who’s greatest joy was the time spent with her family; especially her grandchildren. Laura was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Mrs. Hill is survived by five daughters, Denise McKissick and husband Martin of New Castle, Norma Martin and husband George of New Castle, Donna Reno and husband Glenn of Wampum, Ruth Ann McKissick and husband David of New Castle and Laura Norris of New Castle; one son, Wayne J. Hill and wife Kimberly of Castlewood; nineteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Moyers. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street. A service will be conducted by Pastor James Hockenberry on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Harmony Baptist Church,4103 Ellwood Road. Interment will be in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
