William D. Freshcorn, Sr., 67, of North Beaver St. passed away the evening of February 23, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born on April 21, 1946 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Freeman M. Sr. and Doris McClimans Freshcorn. Surviving him at home is his wife, the former Agnes M. Holland. William retired from his job as a truck driver and previously worked for Jefferson Poultry, B&O Railroad, and Community Alternatives. He was a huge sports enthusiast and loved to go on walks with his dog. An avid outdoorsman, William enjoyed the four seasons of Pennsylvania while hunting and fishing. His greatest joy came from cooking and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, David Freshcorn and wife Pam of New Castle, Robert Freshcorn and wife Cara of Morgantown, WV, and Joseph Freshcorn of Naples, FL; step-sons, Joseph Holland and Dana of Dallas, TX and Christopher Triplett of New Castle; step-daughter, Evelyn Triplett of New Castle; brothers, Harry Freshcorn of Joplin, MO, Lee Henry Atwell of Hollywood, FL, and Freeman Freshcorn of New Castle; sisters, Gayle Hubbard of Susanville, CA, Sara Atwell of Portersville, PA, and Adda Roberts of Manteca, CA; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, William D. Freshcorn, Jr. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. followed by a service at 11:30am, officiated by Rev. William Shaffer.
