James C. Cook, 57, of New Castle passed away the morning of January 3, 2014 at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell. He was born on March 26, 1956 in New Castle to the late Vincent J. and Grace Hoover Cook. On March 11, 1978, he married his loving wife, the former Dottie Mooney. She survives at home.
For 26 years, James worked as a Transport Driver for Reed Oil Co. He was also a member of St. Vitus Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all of the Pittsburgh sports teams. James will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, James is survived by his children, Ashley Bonkoski and husband Alex and Marcus Cook, all of New Castle, and sister, Beverly McCracken and husband Sam of Slippery Rock, PA.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 4pm to 7pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday at 10am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Fr. Nicholas Vaskov. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30am.
Interment will take place at Parkside Cemetery.
