Daniel Morgan, 86, of Ryan Ave passed away the afternoon of December 30, 2013 at Haven Convalescent Home. Born on August 22, 1927 in Whiting, IN, he was the son of the late Herbert and Matilda James Morgan. On August 16, 1956, he married his loving wife, the former Frances L. Kidoor. She survives in New Castle.
Daniel retired from his position as a steelworker from Fleming Steel and had previously worked for Mesta Machine and Johnson Bronze. He was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church and served in the Us Navy during WWII. He also served as a Fourth Ward Democratic Committeeman. Daniel also loved Steelers football and tailgating. His greatest joy came from going to his grandchildren’s events.
In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by his daughters, Tracie Montanari and husband Robert of New Castle and Danna Morgan of Pittsburgh; his dear niece, Diane McGivenn Flood of Mount Airy, MD; and his two grandchildren whom he adored, Rob and Kaylee Montanari.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and John Morgan, and sister, Dorothy McGivern.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4pm to 8pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St.
Services will be held Saturday at 11am at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Michael Spicuzza, pastor of Third Presbyterian Church.
Interment will take place at Oak Park Cemetery.
