Dale C. Hennon, 94, of Orchard Dr, passed away the morning of July 30, 2013 at Orchard Manor in Grove City. He was born on August 30, 1918 in New Castle to the late Clarence and Mary Ellen Kelley Hennon. On December 24, 1938, he married the former Doris Williams. She survives.
He had previously served as a First Sergeant for the US Army. Dale retired from his job as a kiln operator for Universal Rundle in 1982. He was a member of the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Dale also served as a member of the Shenango Area School Board for 34 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved golfing and bowling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Doris Ketzel and husband Lee of Grove City and Jeff Hennon and wife Jill of New Wilmington; grandchild, R. Kelly Smith and husband Brendan; great-grandchildren, Torin and Dalee Smith. Along with his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his son, Dale A. Hennon; grandson, Randall L. Ketzel; brothers, Clyde and Arthur Hennon; and sister, Velma Pyle.
His family will receive friends on Saturday from 12Noon to 1PM at the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church 1947 Morris Street New Castle. A memorial service will be held at 1PM at the church, officiated by Rev. Larry Llewellyn, pastor of the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church, and Rev. Thomas Williams, brother of Mrs. Doris Hennon.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to Orchard Manor Alzheimer’s Unit 20 Orchard Dr, Grove City, PA 16127.
