Marylou Gadzia, 91, of New Castle passed away the morning of July 31, 2013 at Southpoint at Jameson.
Born in Hillsville, Pa. on August 8, 1921, Marylou was the daughter of the late Louis and Christine (Jennie) McCree Gregg. Preceding her in death in 2000, is her husband Guy Gadzia, whom she married on November 23, 1940.
She was a member of the Church of Genesis and the church’s choir. Marylou was a former employee of Cardland at Westgate Plaza and Isaly’s, also at Westgate Plaza. In earlier years she had worked for PoPo’s Restaurant and the Westgate Bakery. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking and sewing. Marylou cherished the times she spent with her family.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth L. Gadzia and his wife Ada of Edinburg; her daughter, Christine Vitto of Charlotte, N.C; her brother, Richard Gregg of Canfield, OH; her sister, Christine Diana of Bessemer; two grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Nick Pasqurello, David Gadzia and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Lucas.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marylou is preceded in death by one son, Gary Guy Gadzia and three brothers, George Gregg, Francis Gregg and Louis Gregg, Jr.
Private family visitation and services will be held at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Pastor Ron Eade of Church of Genesis will conduct services.
Entombment is in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
