Luca Laurenza, 80, of Addis Street passed away the morning of May 19, 2013 in Jameson Hospital. He was born August 28, 1932 in Baia Latina, Caserta, Italy and was the son of the late Carmen and Annina Ginocchi Laurenza. He is survived by his fiance Michele R. Herold. Mr. Laurenza retired in 1985 from Universal Rundle where he worked as a caster. He enjoyed gardening and bocce and played on different local leagues. He also enjoyed wine making and making homemade sausage and cheese. Luca served in the Italain Army and was a member of St. Vitus Church. In addition to his fiance, he is survived by five children, Dante Luca Laurenza at home, Gabriella Laurenza of Finale Ligure, Italy, Rosaria Diaz and husband Luigi of San Diego, CA, Joanna Laurenza of New Castle and Anna Laurenza of New Castle; brother, Alessandro Laurenza and fiance Shirley Bower of Schellsburg; sister, Francesca Bulisco and husband Cosmo of New Castle; nine grandchildren and is also survived by his former wife, Maria Laurenza of New Castle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Luca Pietro Laurenza, Jr.; brothers, Marco, Tomasso, Giovanni and Antonio Laurenza and a sister, Mary Pascarella. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated by Father Frank Almade on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Vitus Church. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM for church. Entombment will be in Parkside Cemetery Mausoleum.
