Raymond Slack, 84, of W. North St. passed away the morning of April 9, 2013 at Edison Manor Rehabilitation Center. Born in New Castle on October 28, 1928, Raymond was the son of the late Leslie and Laura Stewart Slack. Surviving is his wife, the former Berdena L. Anderson who he married on September 18, 1947. He was a member of Calvary Independent Church. Raymond retired from Sparmon Fischler Company where he worked in the warehouse. He was an avid video enthusiast and cherished the times he spent with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Reed of New Castle; three grandchildren, Todd Reed, Shaun Reed and Brandi Reed and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles, Walter and John Slack and his sister, Alice Ramsey. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street. A service will be conducted on Monday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Reverend Charles Fombelle, pastor of Calvary Independent Church will officiate.
