Norman W. Palus, 88, formerly of E. Lutton St. passed away the morning of March 10, 2013 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born in New Castle on April 23, 1924, Norman was the son of the late Anthony and Katherine Santangelo Palus. Preceding him in death on June 19, 2001 is his wife, the former Dolores Biondi, whom he married on February 16,1953. Norman was a member of St. Vitus Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Rockwell International where he worked as an inspector in the Spring Division. Norman also had worked as a television repairman. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and enjoyed gardening, bocce and playing cards. Norman cherished the times he spent with his family and friends and will be sadly missed. Survivors include his four children, Denise K. Palus of New Castle; Norma Palus of Atlanta, GA; Marcia Palus of Boardman OH; David Palus and his wife Denise of New Castle; one brother, Donald Palus of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, David Palus, Jr., Alexander Monstwil and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Norman is preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Palus, Robert Palus, Harry Palus and five sisters, Viola Fazzone, Louise Cicerone, Clementina Leitera, Albina Frengel and Lucille Thomas. Visitation is Wednesday from 10AM to 11:30AM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military honors at the funeral home on Wednesday morning. A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 11:30AM for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12Noon. Rev. Father William Siple of St. Vitus Church will officiate. Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery.
